In order to design an effective
safety program or to strengthen an existing one, it
is essential to determine the exact needs of our clients.
We accomplish this by performing a Safety Program Assessment.
|
|
| |
 Our
safety program audit is a fully comprehensive review
of your safety program. The audit will examine in great
detail, every aspect of your safety program and evaluate
its effectiveness. The evaluation includes a review
of all written safety programs, training materials,
and recordkeeping practices. Additionally, we will perform
one comprehensive safety compliance inspection and deliver
a Job Hazard Analysis mandated by OSHA.
As a result of this audit you will be presented with
a comprehensive report detailing our findings. A WorkSafe
representative will deliver the report and cover the
results with you in detail |

The Safety Program Audit Process:

|
| |
I. Opening Conference:
Upon execution of an agreement we will set
a date and time to hold our initial opening conference.
The conference will be conducted by a qualified WorkSafe
team member and will serve as an orientation for you.
Each step in the audit process will be covered in
great detail and we will communicate exactly what
we need from you to complete the audit in a timely
and effective manner. Any questions or concerns you
have about the process or specifically your current
safety program can be discussed at this time. As soon
as the Opening Conference is completed our team will
immediately begin work on the components listed below.

II. Key Components of the
Safety Program Audit
♦ A Certified Job Hazard Analysis
OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1910.132 - 1910.138 require employers
to complete job hazard assessments (JHA) for the tasks
their employees perform. 1910.132(d)(2) states, “The
employer shall verify that the required workplace hazard
Analysis has been performed through a written certification
that identifies the workplace evaluated”
The safety program audit includes the law mandated Job
Hazard Analysis. This is a detailed review of employee
tasks and allows WorkSafe to get a clear picture of
what hazards face each employee. WorkSafe will identify
all PPE that employees require and identify all required
training topics.
♦ A Review of All Written Materials and Programs
OSHA regulations demand that your business have site-specific
written health & safety programs that address
conditions present at your workplace. In almost every
single encounter with OSHA that your organization
will face OSHA will audit all written safety programs.
WorkSafe will perform this audit and identify deficient
programs. All programs should be complete and current
with present regulations and as a result of the audit
you will know exactly where your deficiencies lay.
♦ A Review of All Training Material
Many standards promulgated by OSHA explicitly require
the employer to train the employees in the safety
and health aspects of their jobs. Other OSHA standards
make it the employers responsibility to limit certain
job assignments to employees who are “certified”
“competent”- or “qualified”
meaning that they have had specialized training. WorkSafe
will review all training materials currently being
utilized and assess what additional training is required.
We will also assess the effectiveness of the current
training that is in place through employee interviews
and observation of work practices in the field.
♦ A Review of Recordkeeping
Under CFR 1904, OSHA requires every employer, unless
exempt, to comply with stipulated recordkeeping requirements.
WorkSafe will audit all records to assess compliance
and identify any deficiencies within the recordkeeping
system.
♦ Comprehensive Field Inspections
WorkSafe will visit one of your job locations or facilities,
to be selected by you, to assess work practices, health
and safety issues as well as regulatory compliance.
Inspections will be fully comprehensive and will simulate
a field inspection conducted by OSHA. A written report
detailing all applicable violations inclusive of pictures
and corrective actions recommended will follow. If
the selected location requires travel expenses these
will be specifically identified and submitted for
your advance acceptance and approval. The charge for
additional site(s) inspected will be discussed with
and approved by the client before WorkSafe performs
and additional inspections.

III. Closing Conference
Upon completion of all components included in the
Safety Program Audit we will schedule a “Closing
Conference” to deliver the results of your audit.
During this meeting you will be taken through every
facet of the audit in great detail. We will explain
our findings and leave you with a comprehensive report
for your use.
At
the time of the “Closing Conference” WorkSafe
will propose a recommended solution to all of your
safety deficiencies and requirements. This proposal
will detail charges for all services. We appreciate
your business and want to establish a long term relationship
with you. If you choose to engage WorkSafe to assist
in strengthening your safety program it is understood
and agreed that the cost for the first year of such
products and services will be reduced by the amount
of the initial monies paid for the audit, as long
as the new contract is for the term of one year or
longer. This reduction will be reflected as 1/12 per
month for the initial one year term of the contract.
